The Himalayas are the most famous mountain range in the world. With the majority of peaks of more than eight thousand meters. Mount Everest. Manaslu. Annapurna. Dhaulagiri. Lotse ...

Kathmandu is the capital of the former kingdom of Nepal. On one hand fascinating and charming, on the other bursting at the seams. Heaven and hell at the same time.

Pokhara, the country's second largest city, is the starting point for numerous trekking tours and also a hotspot for paragliding flights.

The numerous famous/notorious trekking routes, mainly in the Annapurna or Everest region, offer everything that makes a trekker heart happy.

Chitwan, located in the south on the border with India, is the country's largest and most important national park and home to endangered species.

Time goes by

Although a lot of time has passed since my last visit, I hope that not much has changed. That the country has kept its kindness. Its relaxed atmosphere. Its calm and serenity.

And yet the fear creeps in that nothing is as it was before.

Memories

The first trip to Nepal. With an old VW bus on the hippie trail.

Many years later the second trip. The trekking along Kali Gandaki in the Annapurna massif.

What's left?

Apart from great images that have been buried in my memory?

Apart from the memory of an incredibly friendly people taking poverty and remoteness with stoic composure? Which welcomes every stranger with its arms stretched out?

The memories are still there. We will see …

And here the journey begins ...
